The Beaufort County Board of County Commissioners will meet to discuss a variety of issues in their General Meeting on Tuesday, October, Monday, November 3, 2014 6, 2014
We just got this updated graphic, but I thought you would like to see both the written version and the translated version.
Tropical Storm Ana is scheduled to come ashore in South Carolina, under the current track. The track and intensity are still showing some variability, but at the present time the remaining low pressure system will pass near Beaufort County on Monday.
Could be a on again off again rain event this weekend. Sub-tropical Storm Ana is still moving around a little bit and some of the models are now suggesting a more easterly track towards us instead of Raleigh.
The good news is that the Hurricane center is not using the words Tropical event, they are using the words Sub-tropical (Nor'easter in comparison) which means rain, wind, minor inundation.
Here is the latest update from the Hurricane Center for this Low Pressure soon to be sub-tropical event.
I have attached the latest update from the Weather Service for your review. The latest update includes an increase to 90% in the likely hood that the low will become a sub-tropical low in the next 24 hours.
I cannot believe I am sending this out, however, the Five "P's" dictate that I send this out to keep you Informed.
It has been a very busy day for everyone today, however, the next storm is coming. The NWS has issued the enclosed Winter Storm Watch, which includes Beaufort County, and is issued 24-36 hours prior to the arrival of a Winter Storm.
Please find current updated PDF from the NWS Newport. The only caution I would give is that if the track moves our way 20 miles we will see more snow than freezing rain or sleet.
NWS says it is going to snow one to two inches in parts of Beaufort County before switching over to a wintry mix later this afternoon around or near 4:00pm.
There was not much new information from the five o'clock NWS call. The forecast at this time for our area is calling for
Secondary Roads are extremely icy this morning, with Primary roads having slick spots on them. The NWS has extended the Winter Storm Warning for Beaufort County until 4:00pm today.
Thank you to Rep. Michael Speciale and Rep. John Torbett for filing House Bill #93. Rep. Speciale and Torbett are the primary sponsors. Further, Representatives John Bell, Becky Carney, George Graham, Pricey Harrison, and coastal Representative Paul Tine have signed on as co-sponsors.
Weather Service is likely to issue a Weather Storm Watch tomorrow for icing Monday night into and through 11:00am Tuesday morning. We could see freezing rain or sleet as early as 5:00pm Monday evening.
Please take into account the wind when crossing high level winds the further East you are in the County. Wind Chill is an issue as the temperature drops.
A resolution is on the Tuesday, July 7th, 2015, Beaufort County Board of Commissioners meeting agenda to dissolve the above described 9 member board, also known as the "Hospital Board".
When Vidant agreed to lease BC Hospital, they refused to assume the liabilities that were lurking from past mismanagement, an amount estimated to be around $22 million.
Never before in the last two decades, has this 5 term county commissioner, of some estimable intellect on these pertinent matters of the People's business, witnessed commissioners, and their appointed staff take a more flippant, patriarchal attitude toward the welfare of all of our county's citizens
Commissioner Hood Richardson has long found his political center at the heart of debate of just who pays for government and how much they will be accorded that responsibility.
The recently passed budget of Beaufort County's government has now formed into a budget ordinance, and we have the simple details for your perusal. I mean, it is 5 pages long rather than the 9 pages that comprise Beaufort County's budget for the 2015/2016 fiscal year.
First, we recommend that the Board direct the County Attorney to petition for Court Order 13 R 85 to be vacated. To leave the Order in force and subject the County to potential contempt of court liability is a potentially serious mistake.
On Monday night, February 2nd, 2015, at 5:00 PM, a Beaufort County commissioners' meeting was engaged, and promptly discussion of procedure, rules of public meeting engagement, and even what constituted proper representation in a democratic republic broke out.
