Raleigh, N.C. The Office of Governor Pat McCrory has announced five animal shelters that will benefit from an open house hosted by Governor Pat McCrory and First Lady Ann McCrory. On Saturday, nearly 400 people attended the open house at the Executive Mansion bringing donations for animal shelters to benefit homeless pets.
The shelters that will receive donated supplies from the open house include:
The Rockingham County Animal Shelter received donations from the Open House on Saturday, December 19;
The Craven Pamlico Animal Services Center will receive donations this week;
The Wake County Animal Center will receive donations tomorrow;
The SPCA of Wake County will receive donations tomorrow;
Safe Haven for Cats and the Safe Haven Pet Food Pantry will receive donations tomorrow.
"Saturday's open house was a great success and we were overwhelmed by the amount of donations collected," said First Lady Ann McCrory. "These needed supplies have already begun to make a difference and will benefit animals, shelters and families in need throughout North Carolina."
The hundreds of donations collected on Saturday included bags of dog and cat food, cleaning supplies, leashes, collars, towels, bedding, crates, bowls and numerous toys.
