Motor Voter Lawsuit Ignores Facts

News Release:

Raleigh, N.C.     The Office of the Governor of North Carolina released the following statement after learning that three liberal advocacy groups filed a lawsuit in federal court against State Board of Elections (SBOE), the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) alleging violations of the National Voter Registration Act.

"These left wing and labor advocacy groups are ignoring the facts regarding voter registration efforts made by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the State Board of Elections" said Graham Wilson, Press Secretary for Governor Pat McCrory.

"That progress is well documented in a statement (SBOE_Statement.pdf) released by the SBOE this afternoon. The SBOE, DMV and DHHS are to be commended for their efforts and success in getting more North Carolina citizens registered to vote."
