    Good afternoon:

    The national weather service in newport/morehead city has issued a flood watch for a portion of eastern north carolina: Including the following areas...beaufort...carteret...craven ... greene...jones...lenoir...mainland dare... mainland ... Duplin ... Hyde...martin...onslow...outer banks dare...outer banks hyde... Pamlico...pitt...tyrrell and washington through Sunday evening.

    Heavy rain over already wet ground will cause flooding across Eastern North Carolina today and through the upcoming weekend. 3 To 5 inches of rain is expected through Sunday.

    Precautionary/preparedness actions ...
A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on Current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood warnings. those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
